MUSIC lovers from across the region gathered to see local musicians star at the North East Guitar Show.

The event was held on Sunday (March 22) at the Rainton Meadows Arena at Houghton-le-Spring

Among the musicians performing at the event was Mitch Laddie, who was born in Consett and is now based in Ebchester.

The annual event brings together, traders, luthiers, retailers, musicians and music fans.

The Mitch Laddie Band, made up of drummer Matt Connor and bass player Rhian Wilkinson, who are also both from Consett, played a live set at the show.

Mr Laddie said: “We played the North East Guitar Show a couple of years ago and have also played at the North West show in Haydock.

“We love the ethos behind the shows and we were really pleased to be invited back as the headliners this year.

“Organisers Peter and Gail Hoarty are massive supporters of the music scene right across the North of England and their guitar shows really reflect that. “They are a great day out and we’re proud to be associated with them.”
