TERRY Atkin, 26, of Alexandra Terrace,Wheatley Hill, has been given a six month conditional discharge for criminal damage after admitting having scratched his nickname “Trotter” on the wall of a cell at Peterlee Police Station.
Jaxon Taylor, mitigating, said Atkin had been helping police with inquiries in a case for which he was completely exonerated, and had acted out of boredom.
"He does regret it.", said Mr Taylor.
Atkin was ordered to pay £100 in court costs.
