A LEADING tribute act is hoping to set a North-East venue on “fire” when they launch the first of a series of events.

Seaham Town Hall in Seaham, east Durham, opened its doors last year as a new site for conferences, meetings and celebrations, with plans to run its own calendar of events.

The venue is also set to become the new home of Uncovered, a series of gigs featuring the best cover bands in the country.

Following a successful year in 2014, Uncovered will be kick-starting its 2015 programme with a performance from Kazabian, hailed as the UK’s leading Kasabian tribute act.

The group, who will be performing at the venue on Saturday, 21 February, will be supported by Seaham’s own up-and-coming band, Social Rooms, and a DJ who will entertain guests before and after the live music. 7pm...

The venue is being managed by Oldfield Events, which runs the catering and events.

Oldfield Events managing director Bill Oldfield said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Seaham Town Hall has been chosen to host the Uncovered concerts.

“It’s great to be able to offer residents in Seaham the chance to enjoy great music right on their doorstep and to bring in fans of this great group from across the region.

“The fact that we can host gigs of this size really highlights the versatility of the facilities at Seaham Town Hall.

Tickets for the night starting at 7pm are £8 each and can be booked by emailing sales@oldfieldsevents.co.uk or by contacting 07771 646 444.
