CAMPING facilities will be available at this year’s Durham Miners’ Gala.
This year’s Big Meeting takes place on Saturday, July 14.
Marras – The Friends of Durham Miners’ Gala – are offering camping at East Durham College’s Houghall College, on the outskirts of Durham, for July 12-14.
It costs £20 a night for adults and £10 for children and there is a 25 per cent discount for Marras.
MP Grahame Morris, Friends chair, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer camping as an affordable and high-quality option, so more people can stay in Durham and make the most of this wonderful event.
“We’re expecting even bigger crowds than last year, and are working to ensure that the 134th Big Meeting is the best yet.”
Proceeds from the camping will help fund the event, the cost of which has risen significantly this year.
Camping can be booked at durham-gala-camping.wescantickets.com. To become a Marra visit www.friendsofdurhamminersgala.org.
