DURHAM City-based marketing, design and communications agency Glow Creative has been named as one of the very first businesses to receive funding from Digital Drive County Durham.

The digital technology funding grant has come at a welcome time for Glow Creative – the company, which launched in Durham City 10 years ago, has recently moved to expanded office premises in Durham Workspace in Abbey Road, Durham, and has also increased the workforce this month with a new in-house member of staff –digital communications assistant Annelise Brooksbank, a journalism graduate from Northumbria University, who has experience of working for the Sunderland Echo, ETC Magazine, Evening Gazette and Luxe Magazine.

Co-Director of Glow Creative, Georgina Wilczek, said: “Many thanks to Digital Drive Durham for supporting our expansion plans and enabling us to grow our business and move forward in such an exciting way. We are thrilled to welcome Annelise to the team and look forward to helping her to develop her skillset to enable her to excel in her career.”

Annelise said: “I am very pleased to be part of the Glow Creative team. Marketing is my dream career and I’m excited to be part of such a renowned and respected agency. This is an amazing opportunity and can’t wait to get involved in the company’s upcoming projects.”

Glow Creative is one of the first batch of recipients of funding from the new Digital Drive County Durham scheme, which aims to improve local businesses by promoting the use of digital technology in the workplace.

Business Durham’s Digital Drive County Durham programme – which is delivered by BE Group and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund – offers grants of up to 40 per cent towards digital technology or consultancy costs.

Leanne Miller, Senior Project Manager at Digital Drive County Durham, said: "We are delighted to support Glow Creative at this exciting time for them. We hope the grant offers them even further opportunity for growth and development in the future. Digital technology is key to modern business development and we welcome other local companies to get in touch to benefit from the same opportunities.”
