THE British Sociological Association has confirmed its commitment to the region by announcing expansion plans.

The association, the largest sociological network in the UK, has bought Chancery Court on Belmont Business Park, Durham, a property around the corner from its previous rented base at Palatine House. The new premises provides the society with nearly five times its current space, as well as a rental income from a section currently leased out to a tenant.

The association’s company secretary, Kerry Collins, said: “This is exactly what we were looking for and will allow us to continue to grow, as well as giving us space to host various events.”

Dunlop Heywood Newcastle acquired the building on behalf of the association.
