A MOTORIST was seriously injured after losing control of his vehicle on a bend in the road near Durham, police say.
Durham Police said the vehicle left the road, overturned and landed heavily on its roof before coming to a stop at about 3.20pm yesterday (Sunday) near to the A691 at Langley Lane.
The Toyota Hilux was being driven south east on Langley Lane, between Langley Park and Burnhope.
The driver was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary at Newcastle via air ambulance, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
The road was closed for around nine hours and reopened shortly after midnight.
Anybody who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact Durham Police on 101, quoting incident number 276 of
December 3.
