A STUDENT band hopes to hit the right note when they take centre stage with a special performance at one of the North-East’s best-loved landmarks.

Durham University students will perform the two-hour show Concert Band on Broadway in the Great Hall of Durham Castle on Wednesday, November 29, starting at 8pm.

The band, formed in 1977, have crafted a new line up which combines some of the best-loved show stoppers from Broadway productions including West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, Summertime, Fiddler On The Roof and the Sound of Music.

Charlotte Clews, Durham University’s concert and publicity officer, said: “This concert is particularly exciting for DUCB as not only is it our premiere concert of the academic year, but the first time we can showcase the incredible new talent to have joined us this year”.

The performance will be conducted by Hugo Jennings and Chloe Langham, both second year music students at Durham University,

Tickets are £6 for adults, £5 for concession and £4 for Music Durham members available at musicdurham.org.
