SUPERMARKET giant Tesco has withdrawn two of its popular salads from sale over food poisoning fears.
Traces of Campylobacter bacteria have been found in 160g packs of Tesco Chicken Salad and 315g packs of Tesco Chicken, Broccoli, Almond and Cashew Nut Salad.
Both recalled products have "use by" dates of July 12 and July 13. The company says the bacteria has been dedected in a small number of products and no other salads are affected by the withdrawal.
Campylobacter bacteria causes symptoms of severe food poisoning including fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps which follow an incubation period of 24 to 72 hours.
A Tesco spokesman said: “If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them.
“Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund”.
