AN event aimed at giving people with learning disabilities more information about services and opportunities is taking place next week.

The Fulfilling Lives event will take place at New College Durham between 10am and 4pm on Thursday, June 1.

There will be around 80 stalls offering information on health, education, sports, leisure and staying safe as well the sixth meeting of the County Durham Adults Learning Disabilities Engagement Forum, which will include a slot for carers.

Organiser Paul James said: “We’ve heard people really like coming to the event and it promotes better lives for people and shows people what things are out there.

“It might seem simple but a lot of people don’t know what support and services are out there.”
