A THREE-day wedding fair is being held for couples planning their big day.

Businesses from the city will be on hand at events held between Thursday, March 16 and Saturday, March 18 to help people as they prepare to say “I do”.

Professional stylist Belinda Alexandra will be available to offer fashion advice as part of the event organised by Durham Business Improvement District (Bid).

Events are being held on Thursday at the Radisson Blu in Frankland Lane and on Friday and Saturday at the Durham Marriott Royal County Hotel in Old Elvet.

They all take place between 11am and 4pm and feature businesses including jewellers, fashion, shoes, flowers and travel agents.

Adam Deathe, business engagement manager at Durham Bid, said: “Durham is simply stunning and so where better to plan your big day than set against the backdrop of this beautiful medieval city?

“There are so many fantastic businesses across the city that can offer brides and grooms their expert services, from stylish outfits to the latest hair and make-up trends, to the all-important wedding bands, finishing touches like flowers and decorations, and not forgetting the honeymoon too”.
