A THEATRE company is preparing to stage a musical featuring dazzling lights, fabulous songs and great dancing.

Durham Musical Theatre Company presents the much-loved Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Carousel, at the Durham’s Gala Theatre, from Tuesday, March 21, to Saturday, March 25. Evening performances are at 7pm, with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2pm.

DMTC’s latest production, follows their recent award-winning stagings of of Sunset Boulevard and The Best of British Musicals.

The dramatic story features Billy Bigelow (Graeme Walton) and Julie Jordan (Katy Walton) who meet and fall in love. Little do they realise that Billy’s rebellious ways will result in tragedy.

Billy is given a chance to make good, but is it too little too late, or will a lucky star save him and the ones he loves?
