INQUIRIES: Proceeds of crime inquiries being taken against convicted blackmailer Nick Lightfoot
A DRUG dealer jailed for his threats to an indebted customer, benefited by an estimated £70,000 from his illegal activities, a court heard.
Nick Lightfoot received a five-year prison sentence at Durham Crown Court in October, arising from the menacing threats made to the cocaine user for repayment.
The 26-year-old defendant, of Moor Crescent, Ludworth, near Durham, admitted blackmail and supplying cocaine, over a ten-month period up to his arrest in August.
Proceeds of crime inquiries were said to have so far ascertained a benefit of £70,000, but only £5,000-worth of assets have been identified.
A further hearing will take place at the court in late February.
