KING Arthur, killer rabbits and a bevy of showgirls are set to entertain audiences in an upcoming comic musical.

Durham University students are putting on a performance of the Monty Python musical Spamalot in The Gala Theatre from Tuesday, January 24 to Saturday, January 28.

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot is a thoroughly silly retelling of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.

Producer Genevieve Burns said: “Putting together a show of this size is quite a challenge but has been great fun. Everyone has worked so hard and are all incredibly talented. It really will be a production to be proud of.”

The show is being put on by Durham University Light Opera Group (DULOG) and with a professional set and cast of almost 100, it is their largest show of the year.

Performances are at 7.30pm with 2.30pm matinees on Wednesday, January 25 and Saturday, January 28.

Tickets are priced between £8.50 –£14.50 and are available from the Gala box office.
