A VILLAGE football team has won the support of a local housebuilder which has provided players with new kits.
Avant Homes has paid for Hetton Junior Milan’s under-sevens team team’s kits and branded coats to keep the team warm on the bench.
Team assistant coach Craig Noble said: “The continuing existence of small community teams depends on kind donations and I’m delighted Avant Homes has supported the team for this year.
“The new strips look fantastic and I’m sure the team will do themselves proud this season.”
Situated close to Avant Homes’ Rainton Green development, near Houghton-le-Spring, Hetton Juniors Milan trains in Durham on Saturday mornings.
Gina Holmes, sales and marketing director for Avant Homes North East, said : “Avant Homes is committed to supporting the communities in which it has its developments and we’re very happy to be sponsoring Hetton Juniors Milan’s under-sevens team. The team is a local institution and I hope the donation will help it continue for years to come.”
