A DANCE school has been given £1,000 to help it buy more equipment and music.
Starr Dance Academy, in Coxhoe, which teaches a variety of dance styles. was given the funding by Persimmon Homes Durham.
It means teachers at the academy can buy more equipment and music and organise more educational trips and outings to dance events.
Christine Cooper, from Persimmon. said: “We are delighted to support Starr Dance Academy as we know that funding can be difficult to source, so it’s fantastic that we can offer our financial assistance.
“We were very impressed with their application and the work that they do to help young people in their community.”
The funding was given out through the housing company’s community champions scheme, which is open to clubs, groups and other good causes.
