A THEATRE school is offering free classes to try and encourage young people to have a healthier lifestyle.

Razzamataz Theatre School, in Durham City, is opening up its classes in drama, dance and singing, aimed at children aged between two and 18.

Principal Alison Beveridge said: “Being your best self is about being the healthiest in both mind and body that you can be.

“Children naturally have lots of energy and it is important that we harness this and their creativity to steer them in a positive direction in life.”

She added: “The fun classes are for all children whatever their background or ability and there is a strong focus on keeping fit and active, having fun and making friends. Classes start at age two and go on to eighteen and there are lots of opportunities to perform, giving children the chance to grow in confidence.”

Free sessions are being offered by the centre in Front Street, Pity Me, throughout January and February.
