A MUSIC venue is getting ready for Christmas with carols and other family favourites.
The first festive event at Ushaw College, near Durham, takes place today at 4pm, when the tree will be lit, accompanied by carols.
It will be followed by a Mastersingers Concert at 7.30pm, which includes seasonal music, show tunes and jazz.
Next week will see the County Durham Youth Orchestra perform family favourite The Snowman. Shows are on Friday, December 9 at 7.30pm and on Saturday, December 10 at 1pm and 3pm.
Carol services take place on Tuesday, December 13, at 7.30pm with Crook and Weardale Choral Society, and on Wednesday, December 14, at 7.30pm with the Diocesan Choir.
On Saturday, December 17, Alan Barne’s Jazz is taking on Dickens’ Christmas Carol at 7.30pm.
