LIFESAVING lessons will be taught to parents and carers looking after babies and toddlers in the region to combat against choking, burns and breaks.

North-East mother, Gail Atkins, will launch the Mini First Aid session alongside her colleague, Stephanie Costello.

The pair plan to roll out the course across County Durham to inform adults on health risks that youngsters face and how to provide vital treatment before paramedics arrive.

Informal two-hour classes are aimed at small groups of parents and carers and will also cover febrile seizures and meningitis awareness.

The first class will begin at 1pm on Wednesday, October 19, in the All Saints Church, Newton Hall, off Carr House Drive in Durham.

A second class will be hosted on Wednesday, October 26, from 1pm, in the Wadding Street United Reformed Church, Durham.

A third session will be held again in Newton Hall’s All Saints Church at 7pm, on Tuesday, November 15.

Classes are £20 per person and for more information, visit minifirstaid.co.uk
