A CONSULATION is underway into preventing people from waiting in cars outside shops in Framwellgate Moor.
If the order is made it will stop people from waiting or loading in parts of Front Street and Abbey Road.
Cllr Mark Wilkes, who requested the change, said: “For many years we have had problems with inconsiderate drivers pulling onto the pavement opposite the shops in Framwellgate Moor.
“These actions are dangerous and put pedestrians at risk.”
A copy of the draft Order & supporting documents may be inspected at Newton Hall Library & County Hall, Durham during normal working hours and via the Council website.
Comment can be made by emailing highways.orders@durham.gov.uk or writing to Loraine Holding, legal assistant at County Hall, Durham by September 9.
