A SUMMER season of self-guided tours of one of the region’s best-known landmarks gets underway.
For the next six weeks, visitors will be able to explore the nooks and crannies of Durham Castle
Castle curator Gemma Lewis said: “We ran the self-guided tours for the first time last summer and they were extremely popular.
“Self-guided tours allow visitors to look around the Castle at their own pace.”
Tours will take place every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11.15am to 4.15pm until the end of August, excluding August 9-10 when the castle is closed for conservation.
Tickets can be bought from Palace Green Library and the World Heritage Site Visitor Centre, priced £5 for adults, £4 for over 60s and children, and free for the under-fives.
