A STALL to give people information about helping adults with learning disabilities is being held at an event in Durham.

It is being organised by County Durham Fulfilling Lives and is at New College Durham on Tuesday May 31, from 10am to 4pm.

This is the fifth free informal market stall networking event to be held, bringing people with learning disabilities, their carer’s and agencies together to exchange information.

Group spokesman Paul James said: “The event will give people who have learning disabilities and their carers that live in County Durham an opportunity to network, stay connected and to get up to date information on services available to them.

“The event is to promote better lives for people who have learning disabilities.”

The day will also see the fourth meeting of the County Durham Adults Learning Disability Engagement Forum.

Carers are encouraged to attend as well as those with a learning disability to take part in discussions around a number of themes.

The day will include a variety of informal engagement methods tailored for people with learning disabilities to help make it clearer what contributes towards leading a fulfilled life.

Mr James added: “There will also be a wide range of stalls including activities in the community, health, education, sports and leisure including the new carers zone.

“There will be interactive games and a free prize draw for people who attend the day.

“This is a free event, refreshments will be provided plus a couple of tasty food stalls will be there for you to purchase a bite to eat.

“We encourage people with learning disabilities and their carers from across County Durham to attend this very important event.”
