A KEY figure in North-East cricket will talk at a gents’ breakfast next week (Wednesday, February 17).

Tom Moffat was a league cricketer for 40 seasons and played minor counties cricket for Durham.

He was president of Durham County Cricket Club from 2006 to 2008 and wrote a report that led Durham to pursue first class status.

Mr Moffat is the guest speaker at the next Gentlemen’s Breakfast, to be held at Café Cenno in Durham Market Hall on Wednesday, February 17, from 9.30am to 10.45am.

The monthly breakfasts, organised by Durham Markets, Café Cenno and Age UK County Durham, are open to men aged over 50.

Colin Wilkes, managing director of Durham Markets, said: “Join us for the Gents’ Breakfast, and a chance to hear Tom talk about his experience and answer any questions you have.

“Newcomers are always welcome, we recommend you reserve your place and come and enjoy a great breakfast and fascinating conversation.”

The cost is £3.50 per person, including a full English breakfast and tea or coffee. To book a place, call 0191-374-6577 or email: cet@ageukcountydurham.org.uk
