AN ICONIC castle hotel has signed up to support Durham Cathedral.
Lumley Castle, which has become best known in recent years for overlooking Durham County Cricket Club, has become a bronze level corporate partner of the Cathedral.
The 14th century venue, in Chester-le-Street, offers guests packages including afternoon tea at the Cathedral and vouchers for its Lego model.
Clare Chillingworth, from the Cathedral, said: “We’re delighted that Lumley Castle has decided to formalise their connection with us.”
Lumley Castle general manager Christine Gott added: “We are delighted to have strengthened our links with Durham Cathedral.”
The Cathedral is about to unveil its £10m Open Treasure attraction, featuring new world-class exhibition spaces. The Lego model is raising money towards the ambitious project.
