BUSKERS are needed for Durham’s Christmas Festival.

The popular event will run from December 4 to 6 and bands, groups and buskers are wanted to perform at various locations across the city centre at given times.

Colin Wilkes, managing director of Durham Markets said: “The Christmas Festival is your opportunity to perform in a variety of stunning settings in Durham city centre.

“We’ll have performers on Palace Green, in the Market Place, in Millennium Place and on many pedestrianised bridges heading into the city centre.

“If you and your music can add to the atmosphere of the Christmas Festival then we’d love to have you lined up to perform.”

The festival will include a craft and gift marquee on Palace Green, producers’ market in the Cathedral Cloister and markets in the Market Place, Millennium Place and Market Hall.

A children’s lantern parade will leave the Market Place at 3.30pm on the Saturday, arriving at the Cathedral for a St Nicholas Service at 4.10pm.

Any musicians or singers interested in performing should email: info@durhamchristmasfestival.com
