A FAMILY fun day has boosted a fundraising appeal to build a new church hall.
The event was held at Brandon Football Club on Saturday (August 22) and included live petting animals, bouncy castles, children’s rides, stalls and appearances by fairytale characters.
Supporters are trying to raise £500,000 to build a new St John’s Church Hall, in Meadowfield, near Durham to replace the previous hall which was destroyed by fire in March 2014.
Lesley Baxter, one of the fundraisers, said: “It was a good afternoon bringing the community together for a great cause.”
