TWO teenage boys were left with cuts and bruises after being robbed.

The teenagers were attacked and had a mobile phone stolen as they made their way along a footpath which runs between Frankland Lane and Lindisfarne Road in the Newton Hall area of Durham.

The pair were walking towards Durham on their way to the gym when they were approached by two unknown youths at around 3.20pm on Thursday, July 2.

They demanded money from the victims, before attacking them and making off with a mobile phone.

Both offenders were white and aged between 15 and 17. The first was of slim build, with short, dark hair and wearing a grey T-Shirt and blue tracksuit bottoms.

The second was 5ft 10ins tall, of skinny build with dark bushy eyebrows and a pale complexion. He was wearing a grey baseball cap, grey T-Shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms.

PC Sara Knaggs said: “We are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time to come forward, or anyone who knows the youths responsible for this attack.”
