WORKMATES have raised more than £1,000 for charity by completing a 10km run.

Eleven staff from the Durham-based property and energy firm the Banks Group tackled the Druridge Bay 10k race in aid of Integrating Children, which aims to involve children and young people with disabilities and difficulties in mainstream activities.

The Chester-le-Street-based charity is Banks’ chosen charity for the year for 2015 and the 10km run raised £1,187.

Runner Jeannie Kielty said: “Supporting a charity that does so much good in our home area provides all the incentive we need to bring in as much as we can and we’re thrilled with the amount that the Druridge Bay run has helped us to raise.

“We’ve got many more activities planned for the rest of the year, including further physical challenges like this one, and we hope they’ll be as enjoyable and rewarding as our run in the Bank Holiday sun.”
