PAST pupils, staff and governors attended the launch of a school’s alumni association.
The Durham Johnston association was launched at the Durham City secondary on Saturday night (May 16), with three past headteachers representing more than 30 years of the school’s leadership on hand.
Sir John Dunford OBE, head from 1982 to 1988; Richard Bloodworth, head from 1999 to 2004; and Carolyn Roberts, head from 2004 to 2012; joined current head Michael Wardle and others for an evening of memories and music.
Dr Wardle said: “It was an honour and a privilege to launch our alumni network.
“Many of our past students ask how they can get involved and give something back to the school.”
Past pupils are welcome to join the association by calling 0191-384-3887 or emailing: alumni@durhamjohnston.org.uk
