THREE special markets will be held in Durham during May.

The annual Youth Market will return on Sunday, May 10, with aspiring entrepreneurs aged under 24 invited to book a stall and pitch their creations. Stalls cost £25 each.

A Love Your Local Market event on Sunday, May 17, will feature businesses that have never traded in Durham previously. Pitches cost £30 each.

Finally, a Vintage and Nostalgia Market will run across May 24 and 25, with vintage and antique goods for sale and period entertainment on offer. Pitches cost £30 per day.

All events will be held in Durham Market Place.

Among those selling at the Youth Market will be Alex Ashton and Noah Tranmer, both first year students at Durham University, who are designing cufflinks, key rings, T-shirts, mugs and other goods for the day.

Durham Markets managing director Colin Wilkes said the Youth Market was always exciting and interesting.
