A BODY has been found in the search for a missing North-East hiker.
A major search was launched after Daniel Bennett, 43, disappeared while walking in the hills around Tyndrum, western Scotland, on Saturday (March 21).
Police Scotland said a body was found in the area of Ben Loss late on Tuesday afternoon.
The identity of the man is yet to be established.
Mr Bennett’s family has been informed of the find.
The software developer at the Centre of Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM) at Durham University was last seen at the popular Green Welly Stop near Tyndrum on Saturday lunchtime.
He was reported missing by his wife, triggering a major search involving Police Scotland, the Killin, Lomond, Tayside and Arrochar mountain rescue teams, the Search and Rescue Dogs Association and an RAF Mountain Rescue Team.
Police said Mr Bennett was an experienced hill walker and never left home ill-prepared.
