A STUDENT history society is reviving its annual academic conference after a 20-year gap.

The Durham University History Society (DUHS) event will be titled Cities: Nation and Identity and will feature notable academic speakers from across the country.

Up to 200 Durham students and 70 sixth formers are expected to attend, in the Pemberton Buildings, Palace Green, Durham, on Saturday, February 7, and the event is also open to the public.

Speakers will include Newcastle University’s Professor Jeremy Boulton and Prof Helen Berry, Edinburgh University’s Prof Ewen Cameron and former MP Prof David Marquand.
