A PET cat missing for three months has turned up at a local pub.

Harry disappeared from his home in Parkhill, near Durham, in October.

His owner Catherine Tennick appealed for people to help find him, including posting Harry’s picture on the Facebook page of the Coxhoe Slimming World group.

On Tuesday night (January 20), a group member spotted Harry while enjoying a meal at the Poachers Pocket pub, in Metal Bridge.

Ms Tennick said: “It was quite a tearful reunion.

“After him being missing for so many weeks, I didn’t expect to ever find him again.”

Harry, who lost his tail at eight months old when high winds caught a gate and slammed it closed on him, is now safely home.

How many of his nine lives remain, only time will tell.

Lisa Watts, the Slimming World group consultant, said: “I’m so thrilled that we managed to help find Harry.

“The friendship of our group really is brilliant and for this to happen just goes to show how important the support and friendships made in the group can turn out to be.”

The woman was said to be eating out at the Poachers Pocket under the “Extra Easy” slimming scheme.
