A NORTH-East museum’s modern art collection has been boosted by the donation of a painting from a leading Palestinian artist.
Durham University’s Oriental Museum has received ‘In x Out’ by Mohammed Joha.
Some of Mr Joha’s work has been on display at the museum recently as part of the Traces and Revelations exhibition.
Curator Craig Barclay said: “The Oriental Museum has been delighted to host the exhibition Traces and Revelations.
“The works by Palestinian-born artists Hazem Harb and Mohammed Joha have attracted great interest and have been seen by more than 15,000 visitors.
“We are delighted to have been able to add works by both Hazem and Mohammed to our collection.”
A new Near and Middle Eastern gallery will open at the Oriental Museum in 2017.
