CHILDREN in Durham City have been taking part in an Easter egg hunt.

Prince Bishops Shopping Centre staged the sweet spring fun in the mall and will be doing it again tomorrow (Easter Saturday, April 19) in the Bishops’ Quarter.

Cut-out eggs are placed in participating stores youngsters are asked to find them to win a chocolate lolly from Thornton’s.

They are then entered in a competition to win an annual family pass to Adventure Valley in Durham.

The Durham shopping centre has also re-opened its doors to the Little Bishops Play Palace.

A vacant shopping unit was transformed earlier this year into a fun-packed activity hub for children, providing play sessions to over 500 young visitors.

Richard Toynbee, centre manager, said: “We were delighted at how well the Little Bishops Play Palace was received earlier this year and we were inundated by parents asking us to open it over Easter.

“It’s a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre, while providing a safe and friendly environment for the children to play.

“We like to make sure children of all ages have an enjoyable experience and hope that the Little Bishops Play Palace and our Easter hunt is a great way to keep little ones entertained over Easter.”
