OFFICERS investigating an allegation of attempted child abduction have said ‘nothing untoward’ has taken place.
Police were called out in Consett, County Durham, on Sunday and three people were arrested.
Now Durham Constabulary has said officers are investigating a complaint of assault on an adult.
A spokesman said: “It would appear that the abduction is not as initially reported and nothing untoward has taken place. It is believed that this incident has simply escalated over a misunderstanding.”
