A PRIMARY school football team is celebrating after winning a league title for the second year running.
Shotley Bridge Primary School Girls’ football team has once again won the Derwentside Girls Football League.
They have been unbeaten this season against teams from the Consett and Stanley areas, winning ten games and drawing once.
They will now represent Derwentside in the regional finals of a national competition this month.
Captain Isobel Emery said: “I felt really proud to win the league again, especially as I think we are the first school to win the league two years running.”
Headteacher Martin Bell said team sport is a vital part of life at Shotley Bridge Primary School.
He said: “We are so proud of our girls for this amazing success and the way they represent our school.”
