LIFE saving equipment has been installed at a community sports club.
Consett and District Rugby Club now has a defibrillator to make it safer for people who use the facilities.
County Durham NHS Trust supported the project for the device and its secure cabinet, and several fundraising events were held at the club with the backing of around 60 local companies.
Club chairman David Trott said: “The club is run by volunteers for the good of the members, but is supported by the community of Consett. We are delighted to be able to host and make available this piece of equipment, showing our commitment to the safety of those coming to the club, playing the game but also for our closest neighbours at the Consett Academy and those in the local area.”
