ORGANISERS of a country show are expanding what is included to widen its appeal.

Thousands of people are expected at Lanchester Agricultural Show on Sunday, July 2.

The 65th annual event is once again being held at Newhouses Farm, on the A691 near Lanchester and will feature horse classes, including jumping and showing, along with a vintage tractor show and crafts.

There will also be live bands, a beer tent, fairground rides, along with many fun family friendly activities and a compere.

Lanchester Agricultural Society’s president Sean Kell said: “It is a friendly day out and there is something there for all of the family.

“There is a bit variety and we are listening to people coming through the gates telling us what they like.”

There is also ferret-racing, a farmers’ market, an industrial tent, a dog show and the Brownies.

There will also be the chance to pet and groom several animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, goats and sheep.

Entry: adults £7, children £3.
