THE Post Office has revealed plans to move a village branch into a convenience store.

Lanchester Post Office would be open 91 hours a week over seven days if the proposed move to the Spar on Front Street goes ahead.

The store is 40 metres from its current home at Lanchester News, which is also on Front Street.

Suzanne Richardson, regional manager of The Post Office, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents”.

A six-week period of public consultation will close on December 15.

Submissions can be made during the consultation by Freepost YOUR COMMENTS to Post Office Ltd, by email to comments@postoffice.co.uk or by calling 03457-22-33-44.
