A TEAM of air cadets were flying high when they won a regional adventure training challenge.
A five-strong team from 1409 (Consett) Squadron came out on top when 25 squadrons from across Durham and Northumberland took part in the weekend challenge.
Teams competed across a range of disciplines including a timed walk, archery, climbing and an orienteering task at RAF Spadeadam on the Northumberland/Cumbria border.
Squadron Leader Jo Blackie, Adventure Training Officer with the Durham/Northumberland, said: “The standard was extremely high this year with very close scores.
"We had 25 Squadrons represented with over 150 people attending."
