A LIFELONG supporter of the British Legion Poppy Appeal has been honoured during a presentation.
Vera Parnaby, from Blackhill, near Consett, has been raising funds for the annual appeal since 1946.
She was honoured during a presentation evening held at Shotley Bridge Cricket Club.
In July, the club hosted the second Shotley Bridge Eisteddfod, which showcases local entertainers.
Money raised was divided between two charities.
Cricket club chairman Paul Nesbitt presented Mrs Parnaby with £733 for the appeal and the same amount was donated to the Parachute Regimental Association.
President Bob Wheatley presented the cricket club with a commemorative crystal clock and a regimental plaque on the night.
