A COMMUNITY arts festival is being held this month for the second year running.

The second Shotley Bridge Eisteddfod is being held once again at Shotley Bridge Cricket Club.

It will be on Sunday, July 17, from 2pm to 10pm.

Organisers have said this year’s free show promises to be even bigger and better than last year.

There will be a large craft fair, classic cars, children’s entertainers and a wide and varied selection of performers.

This year’s entertainment includes choirs, rap artists and the headline band, The Soul Pistols, who combine a classic soul sound with ‘upbeat rocky numbers’.

Organiser Steve Watson said: “This year we have decided to give everyone who makes a donation to us free entry into a draw, the prize of which is a four-ball at the world famous Close House Golf Centre, including dinner afterwards.

“We are indebted to Craig Pratt of the United Carlton Group for donating this wonderful gift, and I’m sure we will raise much needed funds which this year are being split between the Royal British Legion and The Parachute Regimental Association.”
