A FASHION show with models who have all been affected by cancer is being held next month.

The Jelly Tots Fashion Show is being held in memory of Toni Chorley, a model who died ten years ago aged 23 after a two-year battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Her mother, Sharon Chorley, a tireless fundraiser who owns the TLC Clothing boutique in Blackhill, near Consett, has organised the event with some of her friends and people who knew her daughter.

Mother-of-two Jane Marshall, 52, who owns Gypsy’s Kitchen, a nearby takeaway, is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

She said: “Sharon has been really caring because of what has gone on in her life. Everyone has been lovely. I am quite excited, but a little bit nervous because there will be a lot of people there watching so I hope I don’t trip.

“It is lovely to think that it is all for charity. It is nice to think you are part of doing something to help other people.”

Mother-of-one Dawn Barclay, 53, a barmaid at the Traveller’s Rest in Delves Lane, Consett, has been treated twice for breast cancer.

She said: “It is a privilege to be involved and Sharon works tirelessly for all cancer charities.

“It is a fantastic way to give the girls a little bit of their confidence and back and while we are doing that we are also having fun at the same time.

“We would like as many friends and family as possible to come along because everybody is touched by cancer in some way and it is life changing.”

The Jelly Tots Fashion Show is being held at Derwent Manor Hotel, near Consett, on Sunday, April 10, from 3pm-8pm.

All proceeds will go towards Macmillan Cancer Support.

Mrs Chorley, 53, said: “I wanted this show to be a little bit different so the models could have a makeover and make it a little bit special for them.

“It is about raising money but also showing that these ladies are still getting on with their jobs and living their lives.

“It affects so many people and that is why I wanted to do something different but also have it as a ladies day to make them feel special.”

Tickets cost £10 and can be booked calling 01207-503450 or 07917-302-015 or visiting TLC Clothing on Durham Road.
