A NORTH-EAST children’s author and illustrator is set to entertain little ones this half term.

Known for her books Be Quiet Belinda and Not So Silly Sausage, Liz Million, of Darlington, will be leading free story and illustration events at libraries across County Durham next week.

Linda Dobson, Durham County Council’s principal library manager, said: “Liz is a fantastic author and illustrator and her books are very much loved by little ones across the country.

“To have her come to our libraries this half term is absolutely fantastic.

“She will be on hand to show our young book lovers how she draws and brings a story to life, and will no doubt be treating audiences to a reading of one of her brilliant page turners.”

The story and Draw along with Liz sessions run at Consett library on Tuesday (February 2016) from 10am to 11.30am and at Durham Clayport the same day between 2pm and 3.30pm.

On Thursday (February 18) Liz will be at Shildon library, from 10am to 11.30am, and at Crook that day between 2pm and 3.30pm.

On Friday (February 19) she will be at Seaham library from 10am to 11.30am and at Peterlee the same day between 2pm and 3.30pm.

The sessions are open to children up to the age of 11.

Entry will be on a first come first served basis, and staff at the libraries will be on hand to help.

Anyone whose children are interested in attending any of the sessions can contact their local library for more information.
