A VISITOR attraction in north Durham is celebrating after success in three prestigious tourism awards.

Hall Hill Farm, near Lanchester, were ‘runners up’ in two categories at the National Farm Attraction Network Awards last week

The categories were Farm Attraction of the Year and Best in Education.

At the end of 2015, in the North-East Tourism Awards, the farm won Silver for the Best Tourism Experience in the region.

Spokesman Ann Darlington said: “These awards are fantastic news for everyone at Hall Hill Farm.

“Everyone has worked very hard to make sure that we provide each visitor with a memorable experience.

“We welcomed a record number of visitors last year and we are investing in on-site facilities to make the visitors experience even more enjoyable.”

Visitors can see chicks, goats and Highland Cattle and get close to children’s favourites such as guinea pigs and rabbits.

They can also enjoy a tractor or donkey ride around the countryside, watch a puppet show or play crazy golf.

Hall Hill Farm is reopening after the winter on Saturday, for the half-term holidays, and will be open every day between 10.30am and 4pm and then every weekend until Easter after which it opens daily until the autumn.
