APPEAL: Durham Police appealing for witnesses to fatal crash, on Hownsgill Industrial Park, Consett, to come forward.
THE motorcyclist who died this morning (December 24) in a collision with a car has been named as 24-year-old Luke McKenna.
Luke, from Burnopfield, suffered fatal injuries when his machine collided with a Citroen Picasso at 6.25am on Hownsgill Industrial Estate, Consett.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Citroen, a 30-year-old man from Consett was shocked and uninjured.
It happened near to the Greencore prepared meals factory, on the industrial site, off Knitsley Lane.
A spokesman for Durham Police said: "Our thoughts are with Luke's family and friends."
