NORTH YORKSHIRE

ARKENGARTHDALE: St Mary’s in Arkengarthdale will be holding a remembrance service and laying of wreaths, 10.45am.

BEDALE: A service will take place at Bedale war memorial at 10.45am, where there will be an act of remembrance.

GREAT AYTON: Churches of Great Ayton with Easby and Newton-under-Roseberry will be holding an act of remembrance at the cenotaph, 10.45am.

HIPSWELL: St John’s Church, Hipswell, will lead a laying of wreaths and presentation of standards at the memorial at Hipswell, at 10.45am, followed by refreshments in Hipswell Village Hall. It is being led by the Parish of Hipswell, which also covers Scotton, Colburn, civilian parts of Catterick Garrison.

MALTON: A service of remembrance will be held at St Michael’s Church, Malton Market Place, at noon.

St Mary’s Priory Church will hold a remembrance service from 10.50am to observe the silence at 11am.

MUKER: A remembrance service for Low Row and Muker will be held at St Mary’s Church, 10.30am.

NORTHALLERTON: A service will be held at Northallerton war memorial, when wreaths will be laid, followed by a service in All Saints Parish Church, 10.45am.

PICKERING: An act of remembrance will take place at Pickering Parish Church, at 2pm.

REETH: Parade gathers at Reeth, 10.50am, with a remembrance service taking place at St Andrew’s Church in Grinton at 2.30pm.

RICHMOND: The Royal British Legion Civic Remembrance Sunday Parade takes place from 9.45am and proceeds to St Mary’s Church. After the service it will march to the war memorial in Friary Gardens for a ceremony of remembrance at 11am. The parade will then move to the RAF and Green Howards memorials for wreaths to be laid, before returning to the town hall.

ROSEDALE: Laying of wreaths at Rosedale Abbey war memorial, 10.45am.

SOWERBY: Act of Remembrance at Sowerby war memorial at 10.45am.

STOKESLEY: Remembrance service at the Church of St Peter and St Paul, 10am, followed by a parade to the war memorial on West Green, where a service will be held at 11am.

THIRSK: A remembrance service at St Mary’s Church, 9.30am.

YORK: Service at the Station Chapel of the Yorkshire Air Museum and Allied Air Forces Memorial in Elvington, 1.30pm. Nine British veterans of the D-Day invasion of Europe in 1944 will be honoured with France’s highest decoration, the Légion d’Honneur.

10.30am. Remembrance parade will make its way to the cenotaph in Memorial Gardens, off Leeman Road, where a service will be held and wreaths laid.
