ORIGINAL scripts from Game of Thrones are being auctioned to raise money for a sick toddler.

A community is rallying around two-year-old Toby Rea, from Consett, County Durham, who is being treated for several brain tumours.

The rare scripts are from two early episode of the hit fantasy television show and will be sold at a charity night at The Turf pub in the former steel town on Saturday.

They were donated by a regular who used to have a production role on the HBO series.

Landlady Juliette Hall said: “When we heard about Toby, it really struck a chord. I have got a daughter and it is every parent’s worst nightmare.

“It must be the most frightening and terrifying thing to go through and we wanted to do something for them.”

His parents, Chris Rea, 24, and Kelly Irwin, 26, from Blackhill, also have a four-year-old son called Jake.

Mr Rea, a salesman for Sky, said: “At the start of July Toby woke with a crick in his neck. We took him to the GP and then to Treetops in Durham. They did a CT scan and an MRI scan and found a brain tumour and we have been at the RVI ever since.”

Toby is undergoing chemotherapy treatment for medulloblastoma and his parents are taking it in turns to stay with him while travelling home to get Jake ready for school and to collect him.

After his operation Toby was unable to walk and has had to learn how to again.

Doctors have found four more tumours in his brain and have told the family he has a 20 per cent chance of survival.

Mr Rea said: “We just have to get on with it. We have got no choice. The hospital has been fantastic and so has all of the staff.”

The charity, Toby’s Treasure, has been set up to redecorate his room and make him more comfortable when he returns home.

The evening starts at around 8pm and is followed by live music by the Slow Moving Targets. The auction also includes lots donated by people and businesses in the area. Entry is £2.
