Two quad bikes were stolen from a farm in Lanchester overnight on September 11 and a quantity of red diesel was stolen from a farm in the Knitsley area between September 10 and 11.

Neighbourhood Inspector Keith Wardle, of Consett Police, said: "I would like to ask our rural residents to make sure their outbuildings, in particular, are secured and to report any suspicious activity, especially suspicious vehicles to us."
